We understand that the decision to allow your beloved companion to undergo surgery is never an easy one. At Town & Country Veterinary Hospital we know that surgery is difficult for both you and your pet. This is why we work hard to ensure your pet’s procedure is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Ensuring the health and safety of your pet during surgery is of the utmost importance. Prior to surgery your pet will be examined and pre-surgical blood screening will be performed based upon age, breed, and type of surgical procedure. We will use the results of these tests, your pet’s past anesthetic history, and any preexisting medical conditions to create an individualized anesthesia protocol for your pet.
During anesthesia, our state-of-the-art monitoring system tracks blood pressure, heart activity, respiratory rate, body temperature, and oxygen levels in our modern surgical suite. One of our highly trained, experienced, licensed Registered Veterinary Technicians (R.V.T.s) will be assigned to you and your pet throughout pre-anesthetic medications, anesthesia, post-operative recovery, and discharge.
Pain Management
Pain management is one of our top priorities for your pet. Pain slows healing, decreases activity, and can cause unexpected behavioral changes (such as aggression, anxiety, and depression). The doctors and staff at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital use multimodal pain protocols to relieve any discomfort before, during, and after any surgical procedure, getting them back to your healthy, happy companion as soon as possible.
